Children in Lebanon have felt the crushing anxiety of a looming war for months.

But now our worst nightmare is becoming reality. Over the past week, the situation has escalated dramatically. Children and families are being killed and injured - 100 children have already lost their lives, half of them in the last week.

345,000 children near the southern border of Lebanon are at risk of being impacted by the increasing violence and are now desperately trying to flee with their families to find safety.

500,000 people, including 175,000 children have already been forced to flee. Many of those fleeing are already vulnerable, including women, children and refugee populations who have already been displaced for months.

Any further escalation of hostilities will mean an unacceptable loss of human life. As always, children will bear the brunt of conflict.

“Thinking of home and what is has become, makes me cry. Sometimes I worry I won’t be able to remember what it looked like” – Samer, 13 years old from Southern Lebanon.
